genuine nguni skinWe've had a lot of customers ask us why we put the Genuine Nguni badge on all our products. After all shouldn't it be obvious that this is a real Nguni skin.Well actually not. Recently, South Africa has become the dumping ground for cheap animal hides from such places as South and Central America. Quality is always an issue but more importantly, we don't know the methods used in the tanning of the hides and the killing of the animals.

Every Goony Genuine Nguni Skin comes with the guarantee that the animals are humanely culled, the hides are tanned using the most eco-friendly method in one of South Africa's few ISO 2001 accredited facilities, and the local communities benefit from the sales of their raw hides.

Our skins may be a little more expensive, but doing things any differently could cost us all a lot more.
